Alan is the Divorce Financial-Planning Specialist at WolfBridge. His background is in family financial matters, particularly marital/divorce finances. He started his career doing financial/marketing analysis in large corporations, before shifting his emphasis to corporate communications and contract technical writing. Since developing an intense interest in financial planning and becoming a Certified Financial Planner(TM) certificant in 1994, he has worked primarily as a freelance personal-finance journalist/author.
Alan's books include "A Complete Guide to Protecting Your Financial Security When Getting a Divorce" (2004), "A Parent's Guide to Money: Raising Financially Savvy Children" (2002) and "Alpha Teach Yourself Retirement Planning in 24 Hours" (2001). He also contributed frequently to Bloomberg Wealth Manager, CBS MarketWatch, WORTH Interactive, Forbes, Raleigh News and Observer, and Chapel Hill News - and has been published in/on MSNBC, the New York Times, Boston Globe, LA Times Syndicate and the Journal of Financial Planning.
In keeping with his long-term, problem-solving, teamwork approach to financial planning, Alan is a marathon runner, tournament bridge player, and avid UNC basketball fan.
